Work lately is kinda sucking. Not due to the work itself, but rather for the lack of it. I got my car fixed, from when the transmission died on me just before Christmas, and the bill was quite hefty so now with work availability being so lack luster it’s got me a bit nervous.

I picked up a few games for the DS in the last little while. I grabbed Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero and picked up Final Fantasy VI Advance off of eBay (okay so that’s not a DS game, but I’m playing it on my DS). I was playing them both back and forth, favoring Elebits at first and I’m currently near the end of the game (at least I think I am…) but I’ve kind of lost interest in it and am now playing FF6 instead. I never did beat this game back on the SNES. I once borrowed the cart off a friend but lost interest shortly after I hit the World of Ruin (about the halfway point of the game for those that don’t know [or care, heh]). That was over 10 years ago now though so as I’m playing through I’m not remembering much, just scattered things here and there. I also picked up Avalon Code because I played a demo for it and thought it was really interesting. I’m not playing it yet though, I’m fighting the urge to check it out because I know that if I get into it then FF6 is going to be left by the wayside and I’d really like to finish it this time.

My nephew is now eating baby food and drinking juice. I have a picture.

So I had just gotten home from work and decided to check my email and stuff before I went to bed. On a whim, I decided to see how many text messages I had sent in the last month. I hadn’t checked my cell phone account for quite some time, because I had set everything up with auto payments, and auto renewals. I had chosen the “messaging 2500″ plan, which allows for 2500 texts in a 30-day period, for $10.00 (a bargain considering that one text is $0.15 without a plan, and I text a fair amount). Anyway, when I checked the last 30 days in the “data usage summary”, I see that I’ve been charged $118.50 for a little over 1000 text messages! Well, this can’t be right, I’m thinking, so I have a look at my transaction history, and from November 21 onward, I’ve been charged $0.15 for every text message. Well I’m not very happy at all now, so I scour the Telus site and figure out how to send them an email, and then I write up this little piece of correspondence. (more…)

So I move in and completely neglect the blog, what the hell, eh?

I’m working on something though, maybe it’ll be cool, maybe not.

Oh, my nephew is SUPER CUTE.

So as of today I can move in, yay! I’ve got just about everything in there already, and I’d be done tonight if I didn’t have to work.

I’ve talked to Telus and I’ll have phone service by Saturday, DSL modem hopefully by Monday/Tuesday and internet service by Tuesday.

And now I go get ready for work. Woot.

So I’m finally moving out of my parents’ place. Yeah, yeah, about time, I know. The first months rent and damage deposit is all paid and I officially start living there November 1st, yay!

Not sure when I’ll actually have all my stuff moved in there what with the weather being so crappy and work being so omnipresent.

And I should really write some more, but I’m going to take a nap now before work.

I keep meaning to write these down somewhere because I have a horrible memory and constantly forget simple things like, for example, as the title says. I see a movie preview/trailer/commercial/wtfever and I go, “Wow, that doesn’t look bad, I think I might like to see that. I’ll have to keep my eye out for it.” Then I have to wait forever and a day because we don’t have much of a theater here, so I’m basically waiting for DVD release. By the time the damn thing comes out I’ve completely forgotten about it, or even if I’m reminded by commercials touting “New on DVD!” I’ll forget about THAT by the next day. So that’s it, I’m writing that shit down.

I’m thinking I might make an actual page here on the blog with a to-do list of sorts. Easier to keep track of, and update, than an individual post which will get lost in the shuffle of time.

Edit: Well I did exactly as I said I was going to. There is now a To Do page.

Isn’t he cute? Yay for procreation and such!

So here I am, laying in bed, 4:40 am. Nothing better to do than peruse the internet, like usual. I’m not really tired yet so sleep isn’t appealing to me, and I’ve pretty well exhausted my usual haunts (although I haven’t scoped out the AutoIt forums because the site’s not responding, otherwise I wouldn’t be here) so I figured why not write something to go on the blog. I’ve really been neglecting it lately and I’d like to say it’s because of work, which to be fair has interfered a bit, but I have had some time to write, and I just put it off. I always have good intentions of sitting down and writing about a few ideas or opinions that I want to share, or at least get recorded somewhere, but every time I get up the gumption to do it the enthusiasm kind of fizzles out once the site loads up, and then I start perusing the internet again. But this time is different, now I’ve loaded up the page and I’ve already started writing, and once I get started I can sometimes go on for a while… (more…)

My sister informed me that we had this video on the family computer, so I uploaded it to YouTube. It’s just a quickie, no audio either.

A loved family member, our husky Becca, passed away just hours ago. She has been with us since we adopted her on June 30, 2002, and we have loved her every step of the way. She was recently diagnosed with diabetes and the vet informed us that it would be too expensive to treat. We did the best we could, trying to manage her diet, but it was not enough. She was very sick all of yesterday, throwing up everything we gave her, and not wanting to eat anything. At twenty minutes after midnight, she drew her last breath with everyone that loved her around her. We are going to miss her a lot.
